Protecting yourself from recruitment scams

Sonova is aware of recruitment scams in which individuals or organisations falsely present themselves as Sonova employees, recruiters, or recruitment partners. These approaches may be made through email, WhatsApp, LinkedIn or other online channels and can include fake job offers, requests for personal or financial information, or offers of paid services such as CV preparation or review.

We encourage anyone considering an opportunity with Sonova to take care when responding to recruitment communications and to check that the opportunity and the person contacting you are genuine.

How to protect yourself:

• You will never be asked to pay as part of Sonova’s recruitment process. Sonova does not charge candidates recruitment fees or require payment for CV preparation, training or other services as a condition of applying for or securing a role with us.
• Take care when communicating through social media or messaging services. Fraudsters may create profiles or accounts that appear to belong to Sonova employees or recruiters. Before providing personal information, make sure you are communicating with a legitimate Sonova representative.
• Protect your personal and financial information. Be cautious about providing sensitive information, particularly if you have been contacted unexpectedly or have not been able to verify the person or opportunity.
• Treat unexpected links and attachments with caution. Scam communications can use company names, logos and other branding to appear legitimate. Avoid opening links or files if you have doubts about the sender or the communication.
• Confirm that the opportunity is genuine. If you have any concerns about a job opportunity or recruitment communication claiming to be from Sonova, please contact us, ensuring you select ‘Human Resources’ as the topic of inquiry.
