Phonak EON earns Hearing Technology Innovator Award
Stäfa, Switzerland – October 2, 2026 – Phonak, a global leader in innovative hearing solutions, today announced that EON has been named a 2026 Hearing Technology Innovator by Hearing Health & Technology Matters (HHTM).
Launched in August 2026, EON was recognized for its newly developed HYPERSONIC™ chip, combining Spheric Speech Clarity 3.0, AutoSense OS™ AI 8.0 and Made-For-All connectivity in one, more efficient platform. It further strengthens Phonak’s competitive position in improving speech understanding in noise, automatically adapting to the surrounding sound environment and connecting to virtually any Bluetooth® enabled device.
Now in its seventh year, the global awards program recognizes innovative technologies, products and services from across the hearing industry.
“This recognition is important because EON is built around what truly matters: helping people stay connected in everyday life,” said Josipa Kern, Global Head of Phonak. “By combining AI in complex listening situations with next-generation connectivity, EON moves hearing technology beyond making sound louder and toward helping people take part more fully in the world around them.”
EON also introduces WindBlock 2.0, which automatically reduces wind noise by up to 50 dB and can improve the signal-to-noise ratio by up to 30 dB.1 It supports clearer conversations and a more natural listening experience outdoors.
“The Innovator Awards recognize technologies and solutions that are advancing what’s possible in hearing care,” said Dr. Robert Traynor, member of the 2026 Hearing Technology Innovator Awards judging panel. “This year’s winners reflect the creativity and technical progress taking place across the industry, with innovations designed to address real-world needs for both hearing professionals and the people they serve.”
EON offers the most comprehensive connectivity in the market. This means EON connects to virtually any Bluetooth® enabled device and combines Bluetooth Classic, Roger Direct™ and Auracast™ broadcast audio into one hearing aid. Wearers can access calls, streaming, wireless microphones and compatible public audio broadcasts in venues such as museums, theatres and airports.
The 2026 HHTM program drew submissions from companies around the world across eight categories, representing a broad range of technologies and services designed to advance hearing and hearing care.
