Stäfa, Switzerland, September 18, 2019 – Sonova Holding AG, a leading provider of hearing solutions, today opens its first training center in Germany. Located in Dortmund, the new Sonova Academy offers comprehensive training and development opportunities in ultra-modern training facilities. With the program of presence and eLearning modules at the cutting edge of science and technology, Sonova wants to complement the existing training offerings in hearing acoustics in Germany. The Sonova Academy cooperates closely with the German Academy for Hearing Acoustics (Akademie für Hörakustik) and the German Vocational School for Hearing Acoustics (Bundesoffene Landesberufsschule für Hörakustiker). The aim is to meet the growing demand for hearing care professionals in Germany with highly qualified specialists.
The state-of-the-art training center is Sonova's first training and further education center in Germany and is intended to supplement the existing range of training offers in the field of hearing acoustics. On an area of 1,800 square meters, participants of all target groups and years are already being trained in theory and practice in hearing studios, seminar rooms and an earmold laboratory. The presence modules onsite are supplemented by eLearning modules. The aim of the so-called blended learning approach is to optimally prepare the training participants for the examinations at the Academy for Hearing Acoustics and to increase the number of qualified degrees in hearing acoustics. In addition to training, Sonova also offers its employees at the Sonova Academy tailor-made further education opportunities, ranging from specialist to interdisciplinary qualification.
"The opening of the Sonova Academy is an important milestone for us. We see a growing demand for qualified hearing care professionals in Germany. In close cooperation with the existing training institutions in Lübeck, we would like to help meet this need, strengthen the high training standards in Germany and thus further advance the quality of hearing care in Germany," says Andreas Schmidlechner, Managing Director of Sonova Audiological Care in Germany.
