The 2018 Hear the World calendar – stars support good cause

Global stars raise awareness of the importance of hearing

Priyanka Chopra, Shawn Mendes, Jamie Cullum, Alessia Cara and The Weeknd are just a few of the stars captured on camera by Bryan Adams for this year’s calendar. Each of the subjects of this beautiful series of black and white photographs adopt the familiar Hear the World pose that is synonymous with conscious hearing— one hand behind their ear— to help raise awareness of the importance of good hearing and the consequences of hearing loss. All proceeds from the sale of the calendars will go to Sonova’s Hear the World Foundation, a global non-profit that aids disadvantaged people, particularly children, with hearing loss.

As a Sonova Group initiative, the non-profit Hear the World Foundation aims for  a world in which everyone has the chance to experience good hearing. As well as running a long-term campaign to raise awareness, the Foundation primarily focuses on providing aid for people in need with hearing loss. In particular, it promotes projects that support children in developing countries with hearing loss, whose parents can’t afford hearing devices for their children, enabling them to develop appropriately and to give them access to a school education. Since 2006, Hear the World has supported more than 80 projects across five continents and has already given thousands of people the chance to enjoy better hearing.

The 2018 Hear the World calendar showcases a unique collection of high-quality black and white photographs.  In the most recent project musicians Shawn Mendes, The Weeknd, Jamie Cullum, Peter Maffay, Alessia Cara, Sarah McLachlan, Zedd, and Marc Sway appear. The cover model is the actress, producer and activist Priyanka Chopra and other celebrities featured include model Isabella Emmack, model/singer Karen Elson, and comedian Russell Peters. This year’s twelve featured celebrities follow in the footsteps of over a hundred other musicians, models and actors who have supported Sonova’s Hear the World Foundation over the past 10 years.

Every month, a striking portrait adopts the familiar Hear the World pose that is synonymous with conscious hearing – one hand behind their ear – and draws attention to the importance of good hearing and the consequences of hearing loss. The proceeds from the sale of the calendars will be used to help particularly children with hearing loss in need of support all over the globe. This makes it the perfect holiday gift for anyone who wants to give something special and support a good cause.
