Der Unterricht war in vollem Gange. Doch kaum ein Laut war zu h\u00f6ren.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Nur wenige Monate sp\u00e4ter, bei Variavas n\u00e4chstem Einsatz, h\u00f6rte die Sonova-Audiologin fr\u00f6hliche Kinderstimmen aus den Unterrichtsr\u00e4umen. Die neuen digitalen H\u00f6rger\u00e4te, zur Verf\u00fcgung gestellt von der Hear the World Foundation, hatten etwas Grundlegendes ver\u00e4ndert: Die Kinder nutzten jetzt ihre Stimmen. \u00abIch bin noch immer ger\u00fchrt, wenn ich daran zur\u00fcckdenke\u00bb, erinnert sich Variava. L\u00e4ngst hat die Sonova-Mitarbeitende aus der Zentrale in Mumbai, die als freiwillige Helferin das Projekt begleitet, die Kinder ins Herz geschlossen.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Zwar w\u00e4chst Indiens Wirtschaft schnell, aber auf dem Land ist davon nicht viel zu sp\u00fcren. Es fehlt an Infrastruktur und medizinischer Versorgung. Deshalb verkaufte die Britin Silvia Wright vor mehr als 35 Jahren ihr Hab und Gut \u2013 und gr\u00fcndete die Rangammal Memorial Rehabilitation Society. Die Hear the World Foundation unterst\u00fctzt das soziale Projekt seit 2014 mit digitalen H\u00f6rger\u00e4ten und finanziellen Mitteln f\u00fcr die Sprachtherapie und Lehrerfortbildung. Um die Versorgung langfristig zu sichern, besuchen Mitarbeitende von Sonova Indien die Schule vier Mal im Jahr. Sie \u00fcberpr\u00fcfen die H\u00f6rger\u00e4te, die durch das feuchte Klima strapaziert werden. Sie zeigen den Lehrern, wie sie kleine Reparaturen selbst erledigen k\u00f6nnen.
